Tennis

Individuals and teams qualify for the State Tournament by competing in a District Tournament. There is not a Regional Tournament in Tennis. In order to be eligible to compete in the District Tournament, each player must pass a written rules test, to be provided by TAPPS.  The test will be posted on the TAPPS website. The completed test should be kept on file by the District tournament host and not sent to the TAPPS office.

There will be six divisions for boys and six divisions for girls (6A; 5A; 4A; 3A; 2A; 1A). Players may be entered as either individuals or teams. At the district meet each school may enter two boys’ singles and two girls’ singles, and two boys’ doubles and two girls’ doubles teams. No girls’ team shall compete against boys’ teams and vice versa. No individual shall be allowed to compete in both singles and doubles.
