Athletic Classification and District Organization

Schools are placed in classifications every two years according to enrollment figures. Schools are then assigned to districts by the TAPPS Executive Board. The district assignments and a list of the tentative chairs of the districts are released to participant schools prior to the beginning of the competitive activities season.

Each district shall then select a permanent president and notify the TAPPS office.  However, the superintendent, principal, or coach in each school competing under this organizational plan, is ultimately responsible for ascertaining the name of the district president, time of meeting, etc.  If the selected district president moves from the member school, each school in the district has a responsibility to see that a new president is elected and to notify the TAPPS office.
