An example of using this formula for an individual school would be as follows:
During the Fall transfer deadline of 2022, Central Prep Academy reported a high school enrollment of 179 students. At the Winter transfer deadline they had three students leave the school and they reported a high school enrollment of 176 students. Then in the Spring, they had six new students move in and they reported a total high school enrollment of 182. The following school year, in the Fall of 2023 they reported a high school enrollment of 187 students. The fall enrollment would be multiplied three times and then added to the three numbers reported in the previous year. This sum would be divided by six to produce an average enrollment of 183.
