It is important to understand that the terms “Classification” and “Divisions” are often used interchangeably since they refer to the same thing – an organization of schools by enrollment for the purpose of competing for State Championships. Classification is a term used for those activities that have enough schools to separate into six competitive groupings. Division is a term used for the activities that have less than six.
