Years in High School

 

-Four (4) consecutive calendar years
-Begins with the first day of attendance in the 9th grade
-Eligibility ends after four (4) years

A student has four consecutive calendar years in which they may participate in TAPPS contests regardless of whether or not they compete each year. Once a student enters the ninth grade, the clock begins for his or her eligibility. After four years, that individual’s eligibility ceases, regardless of the actual number of years they participated.

-Date first attends school in the ninth grade
-Repeating a semester or whole grade level
-Reclassifying

-Classes taken prior to high school
-Earned High School Credits
-How many “Junior High” Courses vs How many “High School” Courses

-Home School Students
-International Students who begin classes somewhere other than the United States
